This week was slow. Nothing really happened and no one donated this week. I've been researching ideas that I could do to help raise more money. I've decided to do a car wash, and i'm trying to get the Davie County High School softball team involved. So far my coach liked the idea, and many of my teammates have said they will help out. All we have to do now is get the school to allow us to run it at Davie high. The plant my dad works at has a portion of their profits go to charities and my dad also knows the owner personally. I emailed the owner and asked if they would donate to my fundraiser. I also emailed the owner of where my friends mom works and hopefully they will donate too. My parents also have talked to many of the employees they work with. Many people said they want to donate and help out so hopefully soon the donations will start coming in.

Week 1 of my project was kind of rough. When I made my website I was excited. I just knew that I was going to raise a bunch of money in the first week. I have a big family, so I figured everyone would want to help out and donate. Well, that's not what happened. I posted my website on social media, and some friends and I shared it. The first day went by, and there weren't any donations. I thought, "well it's only the first day, people will start donating eventually." After the next couple of days, there were still no donations. At this point, I was getting really discouraged, and I thought no one would donate. I told my mom, "maybe this wasn't a good idea, i'm not going to raise any money." She reassured me that it was going to take some time. The rest of my day just went down hill. I was so upset that no one had donated, that I was worried this project was going to be a bust. When I got home, I was sitting on the couch when my mom said "McKenzie! you just raised $100!" I was so excited, I couldn't believe it. Turns out, one of my cousins had seen my post and generously donated. I couldn't thank her enough. That whole day had gone by and I didn't think my project was going to work, but she showed me that I just had to have faith. Things were finally starting to look up.
